IL restauro di una bicicletta sembrerebbe una cosa semplice invece non lo è. A volte per le condizioni in cui viene ritrovata, montata con parti non conformi al periodo di costruzione, oppure riadattata per altri scopi che non hanno niente a che vedere con le corse di biciclette, aggiornata con modifiche più recenti nel tempo, e per ultimo, nota dolente, la verniciatura in pessime condizioni e la ruggine che ha preso il posto delle cromature. In questi casi è sempre difficile decidere cosa fare, siamo tutti d’accordo che per il restauro è sempre meglio conservare, ma in alcuni casi, come indicato precedentemente, bisogna porre rimedio con verniciatura, cromatura e a volte con interventi sul telaio, da qui il bisogno di mani esperte che possano intervenire su tutto ciò.
Conclusione : a mio parere è meglio capire l’uso che se ne deve fare della bicicletta prima del restauro, fare un progetto raccogliendo informazioni, e magari non disdegnare di migliorare qualche particolare secondo il fabbisogno, sempre restando nel rispetto del periodo di costruzione del mezzo.
The restoration of a bicycle would seem a simple thing indeed it is not. Sometimes due to the conditions in which they are found, mounted with parts that do not conform to the construction period, or re-adapted for other purposes that have nothing to do with bicycle rides, updated with more recent changes over time, and lastly, painful note, the paintwork in poor condition and the rust that has taken the place of chrome. In these cases it is always difficult to decide what to do, we all agree that for the restoration it is always better to preserve, but in some cases, as previously indicated, it is necessary to remedy with painting, chrome and sometimes with interventions on the frame, from here the need expert hands that can intervene on all this.
Conclusion: in my opinion it is better to understand the use that must be made of the bicycle before the restoration, make a project gathering information, and perhaps not disdain to improve some detail according to the needs, always remaining in compliance with the construction period of the vehicle .
